When did we lose it?

I am careful to observe the key aspects of what has come to be known as the Lord's Prayer. One principal aspect is the requirement of receiving forgiveness from God because we forgave those that sinned against us. But in the full glare of one crucial church ceremony, many fall short of meeting this standard. And it will surprise you that it is an obvious case that believers should not miss.

I am referring to the Communion Service. Regardless of the shape, contents and denominational trappings, one thing stands out when this activity takes place.

Jesus said, "for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes." 19And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.20And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood.…  "Luke 22:18-20 (NIV)

There the essence is doing this in remembrance of what Jesus did for us with his own body. He paid for our sins with his body. He gave his life in exchange of ours. He became sin so that we might become the righteousness of God.  Yet the devil still shows up at the Lord's Table! Why? This is because many believers go to the Lord's Table with unforgiveness in their hearts against those with whom they celebrate the Lord's communion, even in the same church. Accordingly, many fall sick and do not see the power of answered prayers. But why even wait to forgive one another only when you are preparing to eat with another during communion? If you desire to be strong in your spirit and not give a foothold to the enemy, you will have to practice daily cleansing by confessing your own sins and forgiving those who sin against you. You will be right before God and people and Satan will not find any of his goods in you. Read  more in.
